ANNELISE LIKES + boys + reading + writing + shopping + music + partying + texting + travelling + muggle magazines + transfiguration + dancing + the color pink ANNELISE DISLIKES - mean people - spiders - mud - snakes - heights - skeazy guys - sloppy drunks - cold weather - shoes that don't fit - heavy metal music GOALS + finish hogwarts with good marks + go to a good college + become a journalist + move back to france and have a family FEARS - losing someone she loves - that she won't be successful SECRETS + she never appreciated her parents + she hated her childhood WEAKNESSES - she is very vulnerable - she isn't very social - she is haunted by her past STRENGTHS + she is very determined + she doesn't take crap from anyone + she is physically strong OVERALL PERSONALITY ▪ VULNERABLE okay, so annelise had a traumatic past, and therefore is easily hurt. she doesn't like it like that, but the fact that her mother and father both left when she was younger made for her to be emotionally fragile, to say the least. however, she has tried to make the best of her situation, considering she has had to deal with people making fun of her for not having a real family. all her life she has been like this, and slowly she has become more resilient, but for the most part, she is still very easily hurt emotionally.
▪ BLUNT while she may be hurt easily, annelise doesn't take anything from people that make fun of her. she isn't afraid to speak her mind, and sometimes get physically violent if the situation calls for it. she doesn't like to use physical force, but sometimes if she is in danger, annelise is more than willing to make whoever is hurting her pay. she may not look like it, but annelise is very physically strong, and can take people twice her size.
▪ SMART annelise is one of the most intellectual people that you will probably ever meet. since her parents were killed, she has spent most of her time with her nose in a book, and has spent her free time studying. she is a very talented writer and journalist, and most things involving school come very easily and naturally to her. however, she isn't just a bookworm, and her intellectual qualities aren't the only things that make her smart.
▪ PARTIER she may not look like it, but annelise loves to party, and have a good time. when she isn't studying or in class, she can be found drinking and flirting with as many guys as possible. she uses partying as a way to shield herself from her emotional weaknesses, and to be more social, since when she's drunk, annelise is more willing to go crazy and do things that she wouldn't ordinarily do. she doesn't think she necessarily has a problem, but on occasion, she can drink and do drugs to excess.
▪ CREATIVE annelise is a very creative person, and she definitely lets it show through in her personality. she loves to make her own bags and accessories, and most of the time she shops at thrift stores. she hates to look like anyone else, and makes sure that pretty much everything she owns is one of a kind. she also loves to dance and do gymnastics, which for her are pretty much therapy. her dream is to become a fashion journalist for witch weekly, and she tries to make everything that she does a reflection of her creative style and personality.

HOMETOWN marseilles, france.CURRENT RESIDENCE hogwarts, scotland. MOTHER'S NAME dominique deneuve. MOTHER'S OCCUPATION was a office assistant. FATHER'S NAME michel deneuve. FATHER'S OCCUPATION was a doctor at st. mungo's. SIBLINGS camille deneuve, twenty-four, a student at oxford university OVERALL HISTORY to say that annelise deneuve has had a difficult life would certainly be an understatement. her parents, dominique and michel met when they were in high school, and instantly fell in love. however, they were both wealthy competing members of high societly. however, they didn't really care that their parents disapproved of their forbidden romance, and decided to get married despite the fact that pretty much everyone was against them. so, the week after their high school graduation, dominique and michel eloped, much to the dismay of just about everyone in their family.
about a month after the marriage, dominique discovered that she was pregnant. however, resources were very limited, since her parents had disowned her after the wedding. taking a job as a secretary, the family worked hard to make ends meet. while she worked, michel went to college to get a medical degree. life was hard, but eight months later, camille deneuve was born. for ten years, life seemed to be good for the family, but michel had a secret that could have potentially ruined the family. he didn't want anyone to know he was a wizard, having come from a wealthy muggle family, they pretended it never happened and that he wasn't at all different than anyone else. but at some point he had to stop pretending and tell his family.
dominique was shocked, but there was no way that she would let her family fall apart because of it. camille was seven years old and didn't even know what was going on. michel decided to eventually take a job at st. mungo's with dominique's blessing, since she couldn't just pretend that he hadn't told her the truth. a few months later, she gave birth to her second child, annelise. it was obvious that both dominique and michel were very excited to have another child, since after camille, the doctors had said that her chances of becoming pregnant were very slim. annelise was certainly a surprise, but for her parents, it was a very good thing.
annelise was definitely the princess of the family. while there were very limited resources, her parents did everything they could for her, and made sure that she was brought up well and had a good relationship with her sister. even though there was a eight year age difference, camille was always the babysitter, and always there for annelise when she needed someone. however, when annelise was three, camille was accepted to hogwarts, and she had no idea why her sister had just decided to leave. while michel was very happy, dominique just wanted to lead a normal life, which didn't seem very likely in the case of their family.
for the next few years, the family life was tense, and michel had to move to london for work. this wasn't at all what dominique wanted, and annelise was too young to have any sort of opinion about the situation. but it was still hard for her to adjust, since all annelise was used to was france, and moving to another country was a huge change for her. but camille was able to come home on breaks, and they could see each other more often. but soon, things would change forever for both annelise and camille.
when annelise was ten years old, she witnessed the worst tragedy she would ever have to face. a man who had been hired by dominique's family shot and killed both of her parents, while she was in the next room. thankfully, annelise ran and escaped without any injuries. however, she was still emotionally scarred for the rest of her life, and she had to live without either of her parents. there was nothing that she could to do that would bring them back. this left annelise no choice but to move in with her older sister, and try to face the truth, that her parents were gone and not coming back.
with camille at school in paris, annelise moved back home and tried to adjust to life without a family. but not long after, she received her acceptance letter to hogwarts. camille explained everything to her, and it was obvious that it was what her father would have wanted. and at least for a little while, she could try and forget about everything that had happened to her in the past year. life was hard, but she never had really known anything else. the hardest part for her was going to be leaving her sister, especially since she was the only family that annelise had.
but hogwarts wasn't the worst thing to happen to annelise. true, making friends was hard, and she couldn't really tell anyone about her parents. she was pretty much an orphan, and it was hard to think about anything else. but annelise buried her face in books, and tried to pretend that nothing was wrong. the pretending didn't exactly work, but it was better than nothing.
a few years later, camille moved back to london for graduate school, making it a lot easier for annelise to visit her sister, and for them to continue having a good relationship. considering everything that had happened to both of them, annelise couldn't afford to lose somebody else. but for the most part, annelise spent her time at school, since it was the only thing that could keep her mind off her parents, and everything else that had happened to her.

annelise awoke with a start, hyperventilating and sweating. she had another dream. all she could hear was a gunshot and her mother's scream. it had been almost six years to the day since that fateful night. and everytime annelise thought about it, she couldn't help but cry. it was the worst feeling in the world. she couldn't go running back to camille, and she didn't really have anybody at hogwarts. she hated her life so much, because of everything. those people that had torn her life apart. all she wanted was revenge. she wanted those people to pay for what they had done. it wasn't their fault they were in love. just because of who they happened to be, they were killed.
but annelise had to stop thinking about it. all that would do was make her feel even worse. taking out her diary, she began to write, but couldn't feel any sort of inspiration to write. all that came out were tears. she had to cry, there was nothing else to do. checking her watch, annelise realized that it was nearly four in the morning, and she had somehow managed not to wake her roommate. quietly creeping out of her dorm room, she slid on a pair of slippers, and walked down to the courtyard. all annelise really wanted to do was think to herself, and try to imagine things if they were different. but they never would be.
sitting down on a bench, she felt a sense of relief. annelise could have been sent to an orphanage, or put into foster care. but instead, her sister was nice enough to take her in, and raise her for six years. as much as she missed her parents, annelise was glad that she had somewhere else to go. and hogwarts had made her feel so much better. she finally had realized that there was some potential there, though she wasn't quite sure where it was.
rubbing her hands together, annelise was starting to feel quite stupid for coming down to the courtyard in the first place. it was quite cold, even for may. taking her sketchbook out, she began to draw a little bit, since the sun was beginning to rise, and she assumed that her roommate was still fast asleep. working on a drawing, she wasn't sure what to actually draw. all she had so far was a blob of something, which was certainly not the most attractive thing in the world. but then again, some of the most beautiful objects came from flaws. that was something her mother used to tell her whenever she felt bad. but she wasn't thinking about her mother, she was just thinking about her drawing.
